St Teresa of Avila T-Shirt | Love of God 💘

St Teresa, a Doctor in the church, was a well-known mystic and she wrote about her real experiences with the Lord. This design was inspired by a vivid dream she had called the "Transverbation" of her heart.

St. Teresa describes a vision in which she saw an angel take a flaming spear and pierce her human heart. She felt pain, but she was on fire for the "love of God" she explains. 

After St Theresa died, it was discovered that her heart was also physically pierced. When St. Teresa’s body was exhumed in 1582, her body was found to be incorrupt with no evidence of decay. At one point her heart was removed from her body, and people were astonished to see an actual wound from the angel’s spear.
