St Philip Neri Cap ♥
“A heart filled with joy is more easily made perfect than one that is sad.” - Philip Neri
St. Philip Neri, the patron saint of Joy and Humor, is the example of a man that we can all follow. He loved jokes, continually poked fun at himself, and had a talent of naturally drawing anyone into a conversation - where he called them to a higher life.
He was a Saint of the everyday person, and he lead with great joy and love.
This design was inspired by the most famous of St. Neri’s miracles. While Philip was praying to the Holy Spirit, there appeared to him a globe of fire. The flaming globe entered his mouth and lodged in his chest. He was suddenly filled with a fire of love, and he, unable to bear it, threw himself on the floor trying to cool himself. After some time he lifted himself and felt his chest. He felt a swelling as big as a man’s fist - but he never felt any pain or wound.
After his death, doctors examined St. Philips's body and found that his heart had physically grown - to the point that multiple ribs were broken to make room.
For the rest of his life, St. Philip Neri was fueled by divine love and contagious Christian joy.♥ 100% chino cotton twill
