What Rosary is Today the Mysteries of the Rosary

What Rosary is today? Mysteries of the Rosary Calendar

To aid you in praying the Rosary, the Catholic Church has designated days of the week on which to pray each of the Mysteries. The order in which the rosary is prayed can also vary depending on the season of the church, such as Lent and Advent. Below is a quick guide to what Rosary is today and which mysteries to pray on each day of the week.

What Rosary is today?

The cycle of the mysteries follows the rhythm of the liturgical year observed by the Catholic Church. During Ordinary time, what day we pray the Rosary is as follows:
Monday: The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary
Tuesday: The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary
Wednesday: The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary
Thursday: The Luminous Mysteries of the Rosary
Friday: The Sorrowful Mysteries of the Rosary
Saturday: The Joyful Mysteries of the Rosary
Sunday: The Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary
These prayers beautifully accompany the various seasons within the Church year. Therefore we adjust slightly during the seasons of Christmas and Lent.

In the Christmas season, the Joyful Mysteries are prayed on Sundays.

During the season of Lent, the Sorrowful Mysteries are prayed on Sundays.

How to remember what Rosary is today:

An easy way to remember what mystery lands on what day:

Think about the Mysteries as a pattern, with Sunday and the Glorious Mysteries in the center.
Sunday Rosary: Glorious

Then on each side of the Sunday are the Joyful Mysteries.
Saturday Rosary: Joyful
Sunday Rosary: Glorious
Monday Rosary: Joyful

The next sides are the Sorrowful Mysteries.
Friday Rosary: Sorrowful
Saturday Rosary: Joyful
Sunday Rosary: Glorious
Monday Rosary: Joyful
Tuesday Rosary: Sorrowful

Add the final sides, the Glorious Mystery on Wednesday and the Luminous Mystery on Thursday.
Thursday Rosary: Luminous
Friday Rosary: Sorrowful
Saturday Rosary: Joyful
Sunday Rosary: Glorious
Monday Rosary: Joyful
Tuesday Rosary: Sorrowful
Wednesday Rosary: Glorious

Each time you prepare to pray the Rosary, you begin with Sunday, (the Glorious Mysteries), and then count to today. It's an easy way to memorize and pray with the Mysteries. Happy praying!
Luminous - Sorrowful - Joyful - Glorious - Joyful - Sorrowful - Glorious
